How To Host a Corporate Event That Doesn't Suck

Let’s face it, corporate events can have a tendency to be boring. We’ve all experienced the traditional, stuffy sit-down dinner with a speaker droning on and on about how great the company is and blah blah blah. By hour two, things are about as entertaining as watching paint dry and your eyes are glazing over. So forget that! Today we’re going to show you how to host a corporate event that doesn’t suck- the High Caliber way!

Make the Point Clear

It’s important to set a clear goal for the event so that everyone knows why they are there. Is it a team-building exercise? Are you trying to increase company morale? Are you launching a new product? Perhaps you’re simply having a party to celebrate a successful year? Whatever the goal is, make sure that it’s clearly communicated to everyone involved in the planning process, as well as everyone attending. This helps ensure your event runs smoothly and that everyone is locked in and on the same page.

Make sure the point of your corporate event is clear

Make The Event Exciting

To make your event a real hit, look for ways to add some excitement to the gathering. Interactive elements are a great way to liven things up and get people talking. This could be something as simple as bringing in a photo booth, or something a little more exhilarating like Axe Throwing. To make things even more fun and exciting, Axe Throwing at High Caliber is gamified, which means you can compete on bullseye targets, or play games like tic-tac-toe or even hunt zombies with your axes! You might find out you have secret lumberjack skills you weren’t even aware of.

Get everyone’s blood really flowing by splitting your group into teams and competing in some friendly games of ThrowBowling, Pocket Soccer or Gellyball Blaster Battles. And of course for the ultimate rush of excitement, we humbly recommend high-speed go kart racing. You and your coworkers will strap into our all-electric, European go karts and then put the pedal to the metal as you race around our indoor race tracks. The helmet hair is a worthwhile trade off for the fun you’ll experience.

Make It Memorable

One of easiest ways to make an event memorable is by thinking outside the box when it comes to the venue. Instead of renting out a stuffy conference room, consider hosting your event at a more unique location, like a rooftop garden, a museum, or may we suggest, an indoor go karting and action entertainment park like High Caliber. Not only will this add some excitement to the event, but it will also give your guests something to talk about. And best of all, now offer banquet spaces at High Caliber for you to use if you need it! This way you get the best of both worlds- a place to conduct your business, and an indoor adult amusement park to go have fun in afterwards. We also have some super slick VIP rooms, a conference room, and our personal favorite, the Lambo Lounge for events with a smaller number of attendees.

Another way to make your corporate event stand out is to focus on creating a theme. For example, you could host a “Roaring Twenties” themed event, complete with flapper dresses and fedoras, or a “James Bond” themed event with fancy cocktails and everyone dressed to the 9s. This will give your guests something to look forward to and help make the event more interactive and fun. At High Caliber, we’re no stranger to crazy event themes either, the Sparrow Gala is going to be hosted here once more on February 25th, and they are going all out with a racing, full throttle theme.

Make It Entertaining

Forget about a boring speech from a keynote speaker. Spice things up with some real entertainment like a DJ or a band, a comedian, or even a magician. Not only will this keep everyone engaged and entertained, but it’s also a great way to break the ice and create a more relaxed social atmosphere. Good music alone can elevate the mood and make the event memorable.

Make your corporate event entertaining with live music, DJs or other acts.

And wouldn’t you know it? High Caliber just so happens to have built a state of the art live music venue right inside of our very own Double Clutch Lounge. We’ve got all the A/V equipment you need to dazzle your event attendees with an entertaining performance. That means you could book a band of your own for entertainment or get us to host karaoke for ya.

Make Sure Everything is On Point

Lastly, don’t forget about the details. It’s the little things that can make or break an event. So make sure you have plenty of seating that is adequate for the size of your party. Ensure the lighting is good, the decorations (if any) are on point, and that there is plenty of food and drinks readily available. These small details may seem insignificant, but they can make a huge difference in the overall experience of your guests.

Details for your corporate event need to be on point
