New Live Music Venue in High Caliber Karting & Entertainment
EAST LANSING MUSIC SCENE EXPANDS WITH DOUBLE CLUTCH LOUNGE
June 2, 2022, East Lansing, MI – Indoor action and amusement park, High Caliber Karting & Entertainment has breathed new life into Eastern Lansing’s music scene. After the entertainment facility’s 25,000 square footage expansion was completed in August 2021, High Caliber realized that its new bar space, the Double Clutch Lounge, was the perfect location for live music events.
Double Clutch’s live music events take place every Friday at 7 pm, are free to attend with no age limit, and feature a large variety of local bands that focus on an array of genres. Currently, the band lineup consists of local favorites. Still, the venue is looking to expand throughout the year to include national bands that travel through the area for larger shows in Detroit, Grand Rapids, and Ann Arbor. These shows may end up on any day of the week though.
“As music lovers ourselves, we were completely bummed out when multiple music venues shut down during or after the pandemic,” stated Casey Steele, Facility Operations Manager. “Instead of just being sad about it, we decided to turn Double Clutch from a sports bar into a music venue, and so far it has been a roaring success. We only just started shows in May, and the crowd keeps getting bigger each week, and every band has delivered on what we care about most, a damn good experience in the East Lansing community.”
Live music isn’t the only thing that Double Clutch offers though, it has loads of activities for adults to have fun. With 16 gamified Axe Throwing lanes, 12 Throwbowling (aka fowling) with boards decorated by local artists, and the Battle Field which includes both Archery Tag & Gellyball Blaster Battles, it is impossible to be bored on a Friday night at High Caliber Karting & Entertainment. And don’t forget about the bar that offers drink specials and over 24 beers on tap, the majority of which are local Michigan brands like Bells, Founders, & M43.
So stop being bored all the time and get active! Between dancing with the bands rocking out or throwing axes with your friends and enjoying a few brewskies, the adults of Lansing, Michigan have no excuse for staying in on a Friday night. Double Clutch Lounge is connected to the High Caliber facility by a walkway but also has an individual east entry where one can see the dope mural on the side of the building.
